"...momentary as a sound,
Swift as a shadow, short as any dream;
Brief as the lightning in the collied night"

--William Shakespeare, "A Midsummer Night's Dream"
  • After some dealings with abyssal foes, one of the PCs begins having peculiar visions. People, usually powerful people, and just as often those who seem good as those who are cruel, take on demonic features. Small horns, wicked teeth, red tufts of corse fur, any number of things. The visions last only a moment, but are powerful nonetheless, and they only appear at odd intervals, accompanying a flash of light or a sudden, loud sound. Are these individuals truly evil, or are abyssal powers playing tricks on the PC's mind?
  • Lucy Lightning was part of an acrobat troupe, and widely known for her ability to move supernaturally quick. So quickly, in fact, that it's sometimes hard to see her when she gets moving. However, in one of their past adventures, the PCs inadvertently revealed the troupe's manager as a low-level member of a dangerous cult, and since then the troupe has been had unable to make money anywhere in town. Word on the street is that Lucy Lightning has it out for the PCs, and she means business.
  • The newly-christened Aether Quill is the fastest airship ever made, and wherever it goes, its elemental engines leave their signature vapor trails in the sky. However, it never completes its maiden voyage; days after it should have arrived at its destination there's still no sign of the vessel. What's even stranger is that its captain is found wandering a wilderness road with no memory of anything after liftoff. The party is hired to track down the missing vessel, and must follow its vapor trails in the sky and attempt to restore the captain's memories to find out what they're facing.
